Tenting didn't do me any good last night..! My right foot were aching so much that I couldn't fall asleep until 1:30AM. After an hour or so I woke up pretty frozen. Fall is definitely here, so here's one of Theie's top tips if you're buying a sleeping bag: you know the one at Europris which costs €20 and is about the size of a pair of tennis socks when packed? Don't... Even with full on clothing the only good that bag does for you is that it is small and light.
Sleep deprived and hurting I packed the gear and set off again. For the first 15km the weather was nice, accompanied by Northwind. However, it didn't matter much as the hills were too steep to skate up, so I spent most of the next two hours walking. Then, as I passed Uddevalla, the clouds came rolling in and the wind hit me in the face like a cold shower or an angry brother. Add two busted feet and horrible asphalt to the mix and you have yourself a debby-downer Theie. 50km of this actually had me wonder if the whole thing was arranged by my mum to make me quit. I saw two horses though.

I eventually reached Stenungsund. The thing about Stenungsund is that my dad works there, so I surprised him by dropping by.

We decided that while he wrapped up his work I would continue towards Gothenburg and then he'd pick me up from the road, find a restaurant and crash at his place afterwards. Turned out this was perfect motivation. Trying to race your dad to Gothenburg is a pretty effective carrot. I caught a second wind and slam dunked 35km in 1:40 and ended up just 15km away from my destination in Gothenburg tomorrow. Good sh*t!
