So it all started with a joke and some big words (it normally does), "let's just grab the boards and go to Denmark? Like, why wouldn't we?" Now, wind forward a few weeks at a time with the recurring dialogue:
"Still gonna do it?"
"Of course!"
Of course I was gonna do it... Right? But I was also perfectly fine dragging it out. Then along comes Gøran and f**ks it all up so to speak by planting more seeds into the mix. "Let us pretend that I'm some PR-guru and that we can get some air under the wings of this project. I'll wave my PR-wand and get some action around your project, bro!"
Then we thought it'd be nice to maybe combine Gøran's efforts of making a fool out of me with charity. It's easy to take the quality of life for granted when living in a country like Norway. But jokes aside, there are those who aren't so fortunate out there whether it be living in a third world country or struggling with a terminal disease (though they may be living just as fulfilling and happy lives myself). Luckily there's a lot of compassion around and in many cases this condenses into great charities. One of the tragedies that might be closest related to myself is the big black C for cancer. Though my closest family has been pretty safe and sound from cancer I do have friends and their families whose lives have been affected. Therefore we thought that a good candidate would be a cancer charity. So I've created a donation site for kreftforeningen. Hopefully together we can raise some cashish for this cause and help some people deal with a difficult situation.
So, one of the big events every summer is of course Roskilde Festival, and wouldn't it make sense to make a grand entry by skating the entire way to the festival? Well, Gøran went behind my back and thought that some newspapers might think that this would be news worthy:

To my big frustration however, work came in the way and I had to postpone the whole thing... The next two months were then filled with a fiery cocktail of work, play and bad weather conditions. I guess people began thinking that it would end with the big words.. So, me and Nicolay (my longboarding partner in crime) decided that, "Alright, let us do this at the end of August!" Again the world would have it different, this time Nicolay's job came knocking on the door and forced him to throw in the towel. So, now I had no one to go with me, and I was again behind schedule. Maybe I should just quit? Hmmm... but the weather forecast is looking pretty good actually...
F*uck it. I'm going.
So I called up my mom yesterday and told her that I've decided to roll out the next day. Like most mothers, she does not endorse my shenanigans, but this has to happen now or else I'll eat my own mind.
Bon voyage!
I'm
